Gearing up for summer...

Well, the seminar was a success.

At least that is what I have heard. From my perspective things were a little shaky. I was a little overprepared, I shared three lessons and it took nearly 3.5 hours of lecture time. But the material was good and I have heard ggod things from the attendees. There weren't as many people there as I would have hoped but it was a good start, (we had 8 people). It was a great morning with good conversation and discussion on how to best approach individuals with the Gospel.

We recently (April 8) had a Baptism in Church. The woman baptised gave an incredibly powerful testimony. What a way to celebrate Easter Sunday. This last weekend was our annual Easter celebration. We had a movie night on the 6th, we watched The Chronicles of Narnia. On the 7th we had a pancake breakfast followed by a clothes giveaway and an Easter Egg hunt for kids. That same night we had a dodgeball tournement that I managed. Then Sunday we had our Easter service. It was a fantastic weekend.

Pastor Jim has told me that according to our numbers we have seen 12 new attendees since February. The big challenge now is that we are moving into the summer season. All of you involved in a Church will recognize the difficulties inherent in summer ministry. People are constantly on the move and constantly going on trips. The numbers in the church inevitably suffer so we are looking at creating a couple Church efforts to try and carry some momentum through the summer.

1. I am going to be starting an Alpha group with the intent of expanding to something bigger.
2. We are starting a "Service Squad" ministry that will involve individuals in the Church in semi-regular service projects at people's homes from within the Church and the neighboring community.
3. We have a church soccer team in a church league.
4. We are starting a Youth ministry for the teens and calling it 'Fusion'

It is looking like its going to be a strong summer. We will see how it goes,

For Him.

Love to hear what you are doing in your ministry. You have to much energy and enthusiasm to give to others that it just sounds so exciting to be involved in a young, growing church. This is what opens doors for people. Invites them into a warm and loving environment where they can meet Christ face to face, where they live. Blessings to you both as you serve in this unique way.
